Original-style BMW E23 lower dashboard trim panel for the driver’s side of left-hand-drive vehicles.

This shaped panel fits beneath the steering column and covers the underside of the dashboard above the driver’s footwell. It has a textured dark surface, a steering-column cut-out and a recessed rectangular opening.

Supplied as one used panel in restoration condition, with the wear and damage shown in the photographs.

The reference appears in E23 applications including the 728, 733i and 735i. Suitability depends on the vehicle’s production date, equipment and dashboard configuration.

BMW used different panels for certain equipment combinations, including airbag-equipped vehicles. Please compare the steering-column opening, rectangular openings, outer shape and mounting points with your existing panel.

The additional rough-edged rectangular opening on the left-hand section appears to be a later modification.

Condition

Used panel with visible age-related wear and damage.

The front surface shows scratches, scuffs, dirt, uneven colouring and circular pressure marks.

The fibreboard backing has substantial staining, deterioration and areas of separation. Material is damaged or missing along sections of the edges, particularly near a lower corner. Splits and tears are visible around some openings and shaped sections.

The remaining metal fittings show corrosion. The additional rectangular opening has rough, exposed edges.

Repair and reinforcement are required before installation. Suitable as a restoration project or a pattern for making a replacement panel.
