Genuine BMW fuel-tank breather valve manufactured by Bosch for the fuel-vapour control system fitted to various classic BMW models.

This electrically operated valve controls the flow of fuel vapours between the activated-charcoal canister and the engine intake system. It helps prevent fuel vapours from escaping into the atmosphere while allowing the stored vapours to be drawn into the engine under the correct operating conditions.
