Genuine BMW E21 E28 E30 Windscreen Washer Pump – Used – 61661368589

Original used BMW 12V electric windscreen washer pump for selected classic BMW E21, E28 and early E30 models.

The pump supplies washer fluid from the reservoir to the windscreen washer jets. It has two flat electrical terminals and is supplied with the existing braided washer hose and T-piece shown in the photographs.

BMW part number 61661368589 supersedes the earlier BMW part number 61661367616.

The exact hose layout and mounting arrangement may differ depending on the vehicle model and production date.

Condition

This is an original used BMW component with visible age- and use-related wear, including:

• Dirt and storage marks
• Age-related yellowing and discolouration
• Scratches and cosmetic surface wear
• Oxidation and dirt on the electrical terminals
• Ageing and discolouration of the braided washer hose
• General wear consistent with an original classic BMW component

The pump has not been function-tested. Its electrical operation, pumping capacity and sealing condition must therefore be checked before installation.

The existing hose is old and may have become hardened or brittle. Replacement of the hose before installation is recommended.

Installation recommendation

Before installation:

• Confirm the BMW part number and vehicle production date
• Compare the electrical terminals and hose connections with the original pump
• Test the pump using the correct 12V power supply
• Check the housing for cracks or leakage
• Clean the fluid connections
• Flush the pump and washer hose with clean washer fluid
• Inspect the supplied braided hose for hardening, cracking and internal contamination
• Replace deteriorated hoses and connectors
• Check the washer-fluid reservoir for dirt or sediment
• Test the complete washer system for leaks and correct operation

Avoid allowing the electric pump to run dry for an extended period. Installation should preferably be carried out by someone familiar with classic BMW windscreen washer systems.
