Genuine BMW New Old Stock gasket for the auxiliary air slide valve fitted to selected classic BMW models with an M30 petrol-injection engine.

The auxiliary air slide, also known as the additional air slide valve or auxiliary air valve, supplies additional intake air during cold starting and engine warm-up. This gasket seals the valve against its mounting surface and helps prevent unmetered air and vacuum leaks.

BMW part number 11611730239 replaced the earlier 11611254152 gasket. The newer version was manufactured without asbestos and has since been discontinued by BMW.

The gaskets have been stored together in replacement packaging rather than their individual original BMW packaging. Due to their age and long-term storage, the following may be present:

Installation recommendation

Before installation:

• Confirm the BMW part number and vehicle application
• Compare the gasket shape with the original component
• Check the auxiliary air slide valve for correct operation
• Clean both sealing surfaces thoroughly
• Remove all remains of the old gasket
• Avoid scratching or damaging the aluminium mounting surfaces
• Check the mounting surface for corrosion or distortion
• Install the gasket dry unless the workshop manual specifies otherwise
• Tighten the mounting bolts evenly
• Inspect the surrounding coolant and air hoses
• Check for vacuum, air and coolant leaks after installation
• Confirm correct cold-start and warm-idle operation
