New BMW E12 / E28 Door Aperture Seal Set – 4 Pieces – Reproduction

Complete new reproduction door-aperture seal set for the BMW E12 and BMW E28. The set contains four shaped rubber seals for all four doors: front left, front right, rear left and rear right.

The seals are supplied reasonably close to the required shape and length. Depending on the vehicle and installation, it may be necessary to trim a few centimetres from each seal after fitting.

Unlike the original BMW seals, these reproduction seals do not have a fabric or flocked outer covering. They feature a plain black rubber finish.

Product design

The seals are supplied in a formed shape that follows the general contours of the front and rear door openings.

Please note:

• These are newly manufactured reproduction seals
• They are not genuine BMW parts
• The exterior does not have the fabric or flocked finish found on the original seals
• The seals are supplied reasonably close to the required shape
• Minor adjustment may be necessary during installation
• A few centimetres may need to be removed from each seal
• Always complete a trial fit before cutting the seals

Benefits

Old door-aperture seals are often compressed, torn, hardened or dried out. This can result in wind noise, draughts, moisture entering the interior and poorly fitting doors.

The seals have never been installed and are supplied as one complete four-piece set. Because these are reproduction parts, the rubber profile, surface finish and final fit may differ slightly from the original BMW components.

The original BMW seals featured a partially fabric-covered or flocked surface. This reproduction set has a plain black rubber finish without this covering.

Installation recommendation

For the best result:

• Remove the old seals and any remaining adhesive or dirt
• Clean the complete metal mounting flange
• Inspect the door apertures for rust or damage
• Identify the correct seal for each door before installation
• Trial-fit every seal before cutting
• Start installation at a suitable point along the lower door opening
• Press the seal evenly onto the mounting flange
• Do not stretch the rubber during installation
• Only trim the excess length after the seal has been completely fitted
• Use sharp rubber shears for a clean and straight cut
• Check that all four doors close correctly after installation

New seals may initially feel firmer than the old compressed seals. They can settle further after the doors have remained closed for some time.

Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with replacing door-aperture seals.
