Genuine BMW M10 Intake Air Preheating Regulator Housing – 13730742101

Original used BMW regulator housing for the intake-air preheating system fitted to selected classic BMW models with an M10 carburettor engine.

This housing forms part of the original air-filter and intake system. An internal flap controls whether the carburettor receives cold outside air or preheated air collected from around the exhaust manifold. This helps improve cold running and reduces the risk of carburettor icing.

The original German marking reads: “Sommerbetrieb – hier Hebel für Ansaugluftvorwärmung festgelegt”, indicating where the operating lever should be secured for summer use.

The corresponding BMW catalogue number is 13730742101.

This original BMW component is becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially with the regulating mechanism and attached control lead still present.

This regulator housing is generally not suitable for fuel-injected models such as the BMW 2002 tii or 2002 Turbo. BMW also used different air-filter systems on certain twin-carburettor and market-specific versions.
