Original Bosch New Old Stock front ABS wheel-speed sensor for selected classic BMW E23, E24 and E28 models.

This passive sensor measures the rotational speed of the front wheel and supplies this information to the vehicle’s anti-lock braking system. It corresponds to BMW part number 34521154044 and Bosch number 0 265 001 029.

The sensor itself appears unused. However, long-term storage has caused serious deterioration of the outer cable insulation. The cable jacket is split in several places and the internal metallic shielding is exposed.

This component must therefore be professionally repaired and electrically tested before installation. It is not suitable for immediate installation in its current condition.

Condition

Original Bosch New Old Stock component that appears never to have been installed.

Despite being unused, the sensor has significant age- and storage-related deterioration:

• Outer cable insulation is badly cracked and split in several places
• Internal metallic shielding is exposed
• Rubber cable guides and grommets show age-related wear
• Connector housing shows discolouration
• Storage dust and cosmetic marks are present
• Original packaging is torn, dirty and heavily deteriorated
• Electrical operation has not been tested
• Sensor resistance and signal output have not been measured

Because of the damaged cable insulation, the sensor must be considered a repair or restoration component.

It must not be installed in its current condition. The damaged wiring requires professional repair or replacement, followed by electrical testing.

Important condition information

This sensor is New Old Stock, but it is not ready for installation.

The cable insulation has failed due to age. Visible metallic shielding does not automatically mean that the internal signal wires are damaged, but their condition cannot be guaranteed without testing.

The buyer should expect to:

• Check both internal conductors
• Check the metallic shielding
• Measure sensor resistance
• Repair or replace the damaged cable insulation
• Test the sensor signal before installation

Installation recommendation

• Perform a continuity and resistance test
• Test the sensor signal using suitable diagnostic equipment
• Clean the sensor mounting bore
• Inspect the ABS pulse ring for corrosion or damage
• Route the cable according to the original BMW installation
• Make sure the cable cannot contact the tyre, wheel or moving suspension components
• Clear stored ABS faults after installation
• Verify correct ABS operation before driving
