Genuine BMW Coolant Temperature Gauge Sender – 62110788115
Genuine BMW Coolant Temperature Gauge Sender – 62110788115
Kan beschikbaarheid voor afhalen niet laden
Original used BMW single-pole coolant-temperature sender, most likely removed from a classic BMW M30 thermostat housing.
This sender measures the engine-coolant temperature and provides the signal for the temperature gauge in the instrument cluster. It uses one electrical spade terminal and grounds through its threaded metal body.
Its design corresponds to the early BMW remote-thermometer sending unit with part number 62110788115. This older number was subsequently replaced by BMW part number 62111268355.
This sender was used on numerous classic BMW models and engine families. It is therefore not exclusively an M30 component.

Additional BMW applications
This sender or its replacement number was also used on selected:
- BMW 02 Series models
- BMW E21 models
- BMW E23 models
- BMW E28 models
- BMW E30 models
Compatibility depends on the vehicle model, production date, engine type, instrument cluster and thermostat-housing configuration.
This single-pole sender is intended primarily for the dashboard temperature gauge. It should not be confused with a two-pole coolant-temperature sensor for an electronic engine-management system or with a temperature switch for an auxiliary cooling fan.
Always compare the part number, thread size, probe length, terminal type and resistance specification with the original sender before ordering.
BMW and reference numbers
- 62110788115 – Original BMW remote-thermometer sending unit
- 62 11 0 788 115 – Formatted original BMW number
- 62111268355 – Later BMW replacement number
- 62 11 1 268 355 – Formatted replacement BMW number
- 62111274672 – Earlier interchangeable reference replaced by 62111268355
- 07119963200 – Associated A14×18 aluminium sealing ring
No BMW, VDO or manufacturer number is clearly legible on the photographed component. Identification is based on the shape, single electrical terminal, long immersion probe and known BMW application.
Condition
This is a used temperature sender with visible age- and use-related wear, including:
- Dirt and coolant residue
- Tarnishing and oxidation of the brass body
- Oxidation on the electrical terminal
- Old sealing compound remaining on the thread
- Discolouration around the terminal insulator
- General cosmetic wear consistent with an original classic BMW component
The sender has not been electrically or temperature-tested. Its resistance curve, switching behaviour and accuracy are unknown. Testing before installation is strongly recommended.
Included
- One used BMW coolant-temperature gauge sender
- Supplied exactly as shown in the photographs
No thermostat housing, electrical connector, wiring, new sealing ring or other installation materials are included.
Installation recommendation
Before installation:
- Remove the remaining old sealing compound
- Check that the M14×1.5 thread is undamaged
- Clean the electrical terminal carefully
- Test the resistance at different water temperatures
- Compare the resistance values with the original sender
- Always install a new A14×18 sealing ring
- Confirm that the threaded body has a reliable electrical ground
- Avoid excessive thread-sealing tape, as this may interfere with the electrical ground
- Do not overtighten the brass sender
Installation should preferably be carried out by someone familiar with classic BMW cooling systems and temperature-gauge circuits.
