Genuine BMW New Old Stock in-line fuel filter for various classic fuel-injected BMW models.

This original metal fuel filter is installed in the fuel-supply line and protects the fuel-injection system against dirt, rust and other contamination from the fuel tank and fuel lines.

BMW part number 13321256492 is the original discontinued version. It was later replaced by BMW part number 13321256425.

One fuel filter is required per vehicle.

BMW part number 13321256492 has been discontinued and replaced by 13321256425. This is the earlier period-correct version in its original BMW packaging.

Condition

Genuine BMW New Old Stock component that has never been installed.

The filter is supplied with its original BMW packaging. Due to its age and long-term storage, the following may be present:

• Heavy wear and ageing to the cardboard packaging
• Tears, folds and deformation of the original box
• Storage dust and dirt
• Discolouration of the label
• Light cosmetic marks on the metal housing
• Age-related marks on the paper label attached to the filter

The filter housing appears well preserved, but the internal filter element cannot be visually inspected without destroying the component.

Because this is an older fuel-system component, it should be carefully checked before installation. Supplied exactly as shown in the photograph.

Installation recommendation

Before installation:

• Confirm the BMW part number and vehicle application
• Compare the hose-connection diameter with the existing filter
• Check the fuel-flow arrow on the filter housing
• Install the filter in the correct direction of fuel flow
• Inspect all nearby fuel hoses for cracking, hardening or leakage
• Replace old fuel hoses and clamps where necessary
• Flush contaminated fuel lines before installing the NOS filter
• Ensure that no dirt enters the open fuel connections
• Carefully check the complete fuel system for leaks after installation

The fuel system must be depressurised before removing the old filter. Work only in a well-ventilated area away from sparks, hot surfaces and open flames.

Professional installation is recommended due to the age of the component and the fire risk associated with petrol fuel systems.
