Genuine BMW New Old Stock repair kit for an ATE rear wheel brake cylinder fitted to selected BMW E21 and E28 models with rear drum brakes.

The kit contains the internal pistons, rubber seals and protective boots required to overhaul one compatible 19.05 mm rear wheel brake cylinder.

One repair kit is required per wheel cylinder. BMW specifies two kits per vehicle when rebuilding both rear wheel brake cylinders.

Installation recommendation

Before installation:

• Confirm that the wheel cylinder is the 19.05 mm ATE version
• Inspect the cylinder bore for corrosion, scoring and pitting
• Check all NOS rubber components for flexibility and deterioration
• Thoroughly clean the wheel-cylinder housing
• Use only brake-system-compatible assembly fluid or lubricant
• Bleed the braking system completely after installation
• Check carefully for fluid leaks
• Test brake operation and balance before driving

If the cylinder bore is damaged or heavily corroded, replace the complete wheel cylinder instead of rebuilding it.

For balanced braking performance, rebuilding or replacing both rear wheel cylinders at the same time is recommended. Installation should be performed by a qualified automotive technician.
